Shades of Grey

The horror I felt was to vivid; to strong for me to analyze the things' features except some detail; I still recall the image of an uncountable mass of long, spidery limbs; thin as if the creatures had been nearly starved to death. At the front, where a face ought to be, there were orifices; possibly mouths; from which elongated tongues sprouted, and each tongue was armed with a blackened talon of poisonous appearance that they flinged upon me. Apart from these horrid elements, their chitinous bodies were shrouded in distortion and shadows. They had no eyes, nor ears and navigated on keen senses to me unknown.
