Re-animation

Här kommer en gammal text som jag tyckte påminde lite om H.P.Lovecraft's "Herbert West - Reanimator", så jag hittade på en liknande titel.

"The mongrel glared at him with it's yellow, glossy eyes; it was afraid of the light from his lantern. It sounded as if it tried to speak, but could only manage to create deep and guttural coughings. Paralyzed by fear against the tainted wall, Arthur looked back with the flashlight directed at the misshapen being. It moved some of the limbs, urging to get closer, but the bone structure was incorrect, resulting in wormlike twitches. The movement caused pain to the thing, for this was told in the agonized scream that emanated from the many holes of the creature's body, clawing Arthur's ears.

The utmost feeling of dread while standing before the freak, crawling towards him, with branch-like horns that crowned a head-like protrusion and a bulbous, fleshy mass instead of body, caused the deepest animal instincts in Arthur's mind to steer his body away from the abhorrent beast.

He ran all the way through that dark, dreaded maze of abominable creations, and he didn't care to reclaim doctor Chamberlin's journal, which was a wise decision, regardless of the many monsters that dwelled in the darkness, for it was not them he should fear; but the truth. For if he had read the last pages of doctor Chamberlin's diary, Arthur would have found out that the beast he just confronted was actually his lost brother that he had been looking for so long. And such a statement would for sure drive him into the mouth of madness?"
